WHY PAY MORE?

This web site was created to provide boaters with an affordable means by which to get their official CCG Pleasure Craft Operator Card. You pay as low as $25* to write an official Operator Proficiency Exam through St. John Ambulance. This fee includes everything (applicable taxes, Temporary Operator Card, and your permanent Pleasure Craft Operator Card). Some test providers charge as much as double this price for the same service. The fee charged them by the Transport Canada printing plant to produce and mail a Pleasure Craft Operator Card to you is the same as for everybody else: just under $3.

We have some of the lowest prices in Canada:

*	Some testing agents add a $5 surcharge to defray their costs.
**	Note to BC users - $49.00 includes the genuine SJA Marine Safety Kit.
***	We have to charge more for the proctored on-paper test due to the higher cost to offer this service: Proposed proctors must be vetted and approved, a test kit must be packaged, and paid staff must go to a post office to forward the package to the proctor via registered mail. Staff must also go to the post office a second time to pick up the package when the proctor sends it back with the corrected test.

Note

The information on an official CCG Pleasure Craft Operator Card is applied using a laser printing process. Thus, your PCOC can be damaged by exposure to the elements or to solvents such as gasoline or insect repellent. We charge only $12.50 for duplicate or replacement cards; others charge up to $25 and more. Keep a photocopy of your PCOC in a safe place to facilitate ordering a replacement card.
